Join Refugee Action as we screen four films about the global refugee crisis over the next two months. Each film will highlight a different aspect of a refugee’s journey, from why refugees leave home, their journey to a second country, the challenges of gaining asylum in a final destination, and the many difficulties that come with adapting to a new culture. These films will showcase the immense diversity of the refugee experience, following along with individuals who reveal the deeply human nature of a crisis that can too often feel like a distant news story. We hope you’ll join us as we learn about a small portion of this vast experience and explore the role each of us can play in creating a world with respect and dignity for all.
For Sama is both an intimate and epic journey into the female experience of war. The film tells the story of Waad al-Kateab’s life through five years of the uprising in Aleppo, Syria. It will be screened online on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m.
