Registrar Kara Howe stands outside with autuman leaves behind her.Kara Howe officially became registrar right around our shift to remote working and learning this past spring. So not only did she have to adjust to a new position and find and onboard a replacement for associate registrar, but she had to help pivot the College quickly to online learning and working. Through the summer she and her office planned for a remote fall, transformed many paper forms into online applications/surveys, and supported faculty and other staff in their work. After-hours Zoom meetings were a normal part of Kara’s summer/early fall trying to get things just right for our students. And just when we got the fall semester up and running, she started conversations about what spring 2021 would look like and how we could give our students a great academic experience, whether it’s remote, on-campus or somewhere in between! Kara should be given a “key to the College” for all her hard work over the last 7 months! —Sarah Yencha, project director, Dean of the College’s Office
