Science journalist Laurie Garrett

The Polk, Peabody, and Pulitzer Prize-winning science author and journalist will give the annual Robert (’69) and Margaret Pastor Lecture in International Affairs on March 25 at 7 p.m. See the lecture poster and register.

Garrett has extensive knowledge of emerging diseases and epidemics and their impact on governments and societies. A former senior fellow for global health at the Council on Foreign Relations, she has been dubbed the woman who predicted the coronavirus pandemic. Garrett is a frequent contributor to MSNBC and a columnist for Foreign Policy magazine.
