Lafayette is awarding the Barge Oratorical Prize to rising and graduating seniors. The prize was originally endowed by Benjamin F. Barge in 1900.

The prize rewards students for oratorical excellence in the presentation/defense of their honors thesis.  If you have worked closely with a student on their honors thesis and believe that their oratorical skill is exceptional, please submit a nomination. The committee understands that the student is not likely to have defended their thesis yet. The student will be asked to record an oral presentation about their research and its importance.

Please submit the name(s) and email(s) of nominees to John Boyer by 5 p.m. on March 19. Nominees will be notified and have until April 2 to record a video presenting their thesis.  Up to five winners will receive a $3,000 award.
