Mandated reporters are required to report incidents of sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking to the Title IX coordinator or a deputy coordinator. Complainants may request to remain anonymous. Mandated reporters must report all other details shared with them but can maintain the anonymity of the complainant upon request.

Mandated reporters are not required to investigate incidents disclosed to them, and they are not expected to serve as counselors. Mandated reporters are only required to share what they know with the Title IX coordinator or a deputy coordinator.

Are students considered mandated reporters?
In general, no. However, resident advisers trained in this role are considered mandated reporters.
