Author Celeste Watkins-Hayes will talk about her book Remaking a Life: How Women Living with HIV/AIDS Confront Inequality on Thursday at 4:10 p.m. via Zoom.

The book has won awards from the American Sociological Association, Association for Humanist Sociology, Eastern Sociological Society, and National Women’s Studies Association and been covered by the Chicago Tribune, Ms. Magazine, EBONY, PBS Newshour, and several public radio and other outlets across the country.

Watkins-Hayes is professor of university diversity and social transformation, Jean E. Fairfax Collegiate Professor of Public Policy, and professor of sociology at University of Michigan.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Anthropology and Sociology’s Ethnographic Research Fund.
