The Hamilton Street side of Oechsle Hall, with yellow tape and orange wooden objects to keep people from walking or parking nearbyA piece of stone fell from the facade of the building facing Hamilton Street early Tuesday. There were no injuries. Facilities Operations blocked off the sidewalk, and a masonry engineer evaluated the situation. Water infiltration over time had rusted one of the anchors holding the stone in place. Although it does not appear to be a systemic issue throughout the exterior wall, other stones do need repair.

A scaffold will be installed over the sidewalk to allow it to re-open.  Following Commencement, the entire side of the building will have scaffolding, and repairs will be made.
