Katie Bednarsky seated outside, smilingKaty joins us as student advocacy and prevention coordinator, a new position at Lafayette.

She brings experience in community outreach, program evaluation, implementation of prevention programs, and case management and clinical support for survivors of interpersonal violence. Previously, she worked for the Domestic Abuse & Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Warren County as a community education manager as well as a clinical social work intern. She also worked as the youth mentoring initiative coordinator for Prevention is Key.

“I am so extremely excited to fill this newly instated role and meet the need of supporting students and survivors,” she says.

In her free time, Katy enjoys watching and playing soccer, searching for new recipes on Pinterest, and trying to find the best coffee shop around.

Katy is a licensed social worker in New Jersey and holds a master’s in clinical social work from Rutgers, where she also received a certificate in the Violence Against Women and Children program. Katy holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from The College of New Jersey with minors in deaf studies; psychology; and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies.
