Lijuan, associate director of research and instructional services, libraries, spoke with Ithaka S+R about her motivation behind her recently published book, Engaging Undergraduates in Primary Source Research, (Rowman & Littlefield, 2021), as well as her approach to teaching and her ongoing research, both of which focus on the silences and absences of marginalized groups from the dominant discourse.
