The Lehigh University/United Nations Partnership, the Martindale Center for Private Enterprise and Lafayette College invite you to participate in North America’s first In-Person and Virtual United Nations Model International Labour Organization (ILO) simulation to be held at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, PA, on April 22-24. The conference is co-hosted by Lafayette, Lehigh, and the International Labor Organization.

This event will challenge participants to simulate an ILO deliberation on the topic of “Just Transition: From Fossil Fuels to Green Energy.” While representing and negotiating with various workers groups, employers, and governments, participants will directly engage with senior ILO officials and students from around the world.

Participation Requirements:

  • Participate in 2-3 virtual training sessions with ILO Officials
  • Read ILO designated background papers on the topic
  • Write a 1-page Position Paper pertaining to your designated role
  • Attend the orientation from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Fri., April 22, and the simulation from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat., April 23, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sun., April 24. The total time commitment is expected to be about 20 hours.
