On the Oct. 29 football game versus Georgetown, Lafayette will be participating in Game Day Challenge against schools across the nation. This is a competition aimed at reducing waste at college sporting events and we need your help! Keep a lookout for student volunteers in green vests, who will help make sure we compost and recycle properly. Beyond Game Day Challenge there are many ways you can reduce waste at Fisher Stadium. Here are a few tips from the Office of Sustainability:
-At Lafayette, we aim for a Zero Waste Stadium! As a fan, you can help us achieve that goal by reducing the disposable items you bring or buy, reusing cups, trays and utensils, and recycling cans and bottles in the blue bins.
Inside the stadium, trash and recycling spots are located by concessions and each stand tunnel. Make sure to think before you throw and read the signage carefully.
-We have single stream recycling which means all empty plastic bottles, aluminum, paper, and cardboard can go in the same blue bin.
-When in doubt, throw it out! Recycling that is contaminated with food may not be accepted at the sorting facility. Help us keep the stadium clean and reduce waste by using the correct bins.
-Remember at the football game on Sat., Oct. 29, Lafayette will be participating in Game Day Challenge against schools across the nation to decrease our waste! Compost bins will be available at concessions and select areas with green bags for food waste. Questions about recycling and compost? Ask the student volunteers in green vests!
