The Christian holiday of Ash Wednesday, the first day of the season of Lent, will be observed on campus this Wed., Feb. 22.

A non-denominational service will be held in Interfaith Chapel (on the first floor of Hogg Hall) at 8:30 a.m. The service will last around 20 minutes.

Ashes-to-Go, where anyone may drop by to receive ashes from College Chaplain Alex Hendrickson, will be held in the Farinon Atrium from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.

Roman Catholic Mass will be held in Colton Chapel at 12:15 p.m.

If anyone is unable to make any of these opportunities and would still like to receive ashes, you can stop by Farinon suite 107 and look for Chaplain Alex until approximately 4:30 p.m. Chaplain Alex can also help you find a local congregation who is offering an Ash Wednesday service. You can email her at hendrica@lafayette.edu, call her at 610-330-5959, or look up local churches using this website.
