Rendering of McCartney Housing part 2The new McCartney Street Housing – Phase II project is planned to kick off with construction mobilizations during the first week of March. The new approximately 90,000-square-foot building will contain residential units on the upper floors, similar to McCartney North/South, and will house over 160 students when it opens for the fall 2024 semester.

The initial first weeks of the project will involve the demolition of the temporary parking lot and excavation for the new building foundations. The sidewalks directly bordering the construction site/temporary parking lot area along March Street, McCartney Street, and Clinton Terrace will be closed during construction. The on-street parking around the construction site will remain open at this point in time, but will need to be closed as construction progresses later this spring.

Also, at times, Marquis Street will need to be closed in order to install foundations and underground utilities for the new building. Any closures of the on-street parking around the construction site and/or Marquis Street will be communicated in advance.

Construction will be in compliance with the City of Easton noise ordinance, with extra attention being placed around the final exam time periods.
