Sarah Waheed, assistant professor of South Asian History at the University of South Carolina, will be speaking on her research on Chand Bibi, a 16th century medieval Muslim warrior queen in the region of Deccan in the Indian subcontinent. The talk will shed light on Muslim female power in precolonial India, feminist historical methodologies, and South Asia’s past and present.
