The Fall Career Fair is right around the corner! Meet 60+ potential employers at the Sept. 20 event, and find your ideal internship or full-time role.

Follow these tips to help you make the right first impression as you navigate the career fair.

  1. Register to attend: Get your name on the list. The Fall Career Fair will be held 5-8 p.m. Wed., Sept. 20 in Marquis Hall
  2. View the list of employers: Find out which companies will be there, and learn more about them. Employers represent many different fields including nonprofit, technology, manufacturing, financial services, military, graduate schools, and engineering.   
  3. Have your materials reviewed: Wish you could get a second set of eyes on your resume? Make an appointment for Document Review Day (Sept. 18), or meet with a counselor during a Gateway & Go session:
    • 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tues., Sept. 12 • REGISTER
    • 2-4 p.m. Fri., Sept. 15 • REGISTER
    • 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tues., Sept. 19 • REGISTER
  4. Utilize your resources: The counselors at Gateway want to help you land your dream job. Reach out to the staff or attend one of these events to prepare for the Career Fair:
    • Opening the Gates: Gateway Your First Year, 12:15-1 p.m. Wed., Sept. 13 • REGISTER
    • How to Be Successful at a Career Fair with PPL, 3-4:30 p.m. Wed., Sept. 13 • REGISTER
  5. Dress for success: First impressions matter—think polished and professional. Check out Gateway’s Instagram for tips on what not to wear
    • Need professional attire? Visit the Career Closet (Hogg Hall, second floor).

  6. Print your resume: With 60+ employers represented, you’re going to need extra copies of your resume. Gateway counselors recommend having at least 10-20 copies to hand to potential employers. Need to print on campus? Here’s how.
