On Oct. 19 the Lafayette English Club hosted its second annual fall poetry slam at President Nicole Hurd‘s house.

Faculty, staff, and students were invited to share poetry. Approximately 25-30 guests gathered to listen to the performances.

“English Club is an uplifting space for students of all academic backgrounds to come together, be creative, and learn more about the world through literature and writing,” says Maria Cangro ’24, president of the club. “And I believe in the power of words to change the world!”

The club meets at 4:15 p.m. every Thursday, and hopes to share another poetry slam in the spring.
