UPDATE July 17: Due to the weather forecast, the planned power outage this weekend will occur on the previously announced rain date, Sun., July 19. The planned shutdown will last approximately eight hours (from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
There will be a main campus power shutdown Sat., July 18 (rain date: Sun., July 19) to complete maintenance on the electrical distribution system.
The planned shutdown will last approximately eight hours (from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
The plan is as follows:
- The electricity to all main campus buildings will be turned off.
- Local building generators will remain on in certain buildings to maintain vivariums and other research-related projects.
- Preventative maintenance and repairs will be completed at the electrical substation and in some campus buildings.
- After the maintenance is completed, power will be restored to all buildings.
