The Office of International and Off-Campus Education, aka Study Abroad, offers students academic resources and a platform for venturing to different countries and states to pursue their interests. Learn more about Study Abroad and how it can help you explore a new language and culture, or even support travel for honors thesis research.
“I would encourage students to reflect on what they truly want to get out of the experience, so we can help them identify programs that will fit their interests,” says Rochelle Keesler, director of study abroad and primary adviser for Lafayette engineering and interim programs.
- Opportunities: Study Abroad offers a diverse array of opportunities to suit students’ academic, personal, and professional goals. It offers faculty-led semester programs, semester-affiliated programs, and Lafayette interim and summer programs. Visit the study abroad website to get started exploring your options.
- Aid resources: Financial aid travels with students on semester abroad programs. Eligible students who register for winter and summer interim programs are automatically considered for financial aid by the Office of Financial Aid. Additionally, through the Assante Carrasco Fund for Honors Thesis Research, students may apply to receive funding for travel. Study Abroad participants are also encouraged to apply to external scholarships such as the Gilman Scholarship and the Fund for Education Abroad. More information about funding for study abroad can be found on the program website.
- Best time to contact Study Abroad: The best time to contact or reach out to the Study Abroad team is as soon as possible! Start by exploring the studyabroad.lafayette.edu page, then talking one-on-one with your academic adviser to ensure careful planning for your major or minor. Want to learn more?
