Are you a first-year missing the excitement of getting ready for your Homecoming dance at the start of the semester? Hoping to find another opportunity to wear your favorite suit or dress? Looking for something fun to do on a Friday night? Have no fear! A beloved Lafayette tradition is coming soon to grant your wishes.
1,000 Nights, a first-year exclusive formal, is held every fall for the incoming class as a way to mark approximately 1,000 nights until graduation. It originated as an offshoot of the preexisting 100 Nights celebration, a similar formal held for seniors 100 nights before graduation. Now, the pair of events are often seen as two halves of the same tradition, commemorating the beginning and end of students’ journeys at Lafayette.
This year’s theme is Enchanted Forest, so expect nature-like decor, fairy lights, and all the magic of a first college formal! The event will be held 9-11:55 p.m. Fri., Sept. 25, at Pfenning Alumni Center. The dress code is semiformal. Please note that guests and upperclassmen will not be permitted for this event.
