For the upcoming fall semester, it is important to know what Lafayette Dining offers so, as students, you can maintain a healthy diet, know where to find food on campus, and learn about dining resources/events from Lafayette Dining.

We believe the beginning of the academic year is the perfect time to highlight these resources for returning students and welcome incoming first-year students,” Shadeera Riddick, marketing manager, says. “We look forward to another year of introducing new menu items, expanding programming, and creating memorable dining experiences across campus.”

  1. Pop-ups and giveaways: Lafayette Dining hosts an assortment of free pop-ups and giveaways on the Quad throughout the year, where you can sample specialty items or menu offerings. Be the first to know about all these delicious events by reading Lafayette Today. Last year, pop-ups included snow cones and ice cream scoops on the Quad.
  2. Sustainable options: Lafayette Dining offers reusable takeout containers in Marquis and Farinon. Scan your ID card to get a reusable container, fill it with your favorites, and exchange the used container for a fresh one the next time you visit the dining hall. Instead of throwing food scraps away, Lafayette Dining has a compost bin alongside the trash and recycling—this food goes straight to LaFarm to be turned into compost to feed the gardens.
  3. Location: Lafayette Dining hosts free Kitchen Coaching sessions at Marquis Hall for students interested in strengthening their cooking skills and to accommodate students who have certain dietary/allergy concerns. Sessions are advertised throughout the semester and students can sign up via poster or Instagram. The Inspired Eats sections in Upper Farinon and Marquis offer choices free of the top nine allergens.
  4. What’s the most popular dining spot on campus? Gilbert’s is the campus favorite, serving an average of 1,200 handcrafted beverages each day during the academic year, Riddick says.
  5. Save time by placing a mobile order: You can order food from any of the dining locations via the GrubHub app. Or visit Simon’s Market, a 24-hour self-checkout marketplace.
  6. How to find allergen-friendly items? Lafayette Dining offers specified allergen-friendly items in the dining halls, as well as inclusive services such as kosher and halal dishes.
  7. Local vendors: Parkhurst Dining utilizes an extensive internal program for Lafayette Dining’s food procurement. The Know Your Source program utilizes three separate approaches to ensuring active consumerism. Parkhurst sources fruit from Scholl Orchards in Bethlehem, tofu from Fresh Tofu in Allentown, granola from The Granola Factory in Bethlehem, and fresh veggies and microgreens from LaFarm.
